I love how Spirit guides us. Let me take you on a sweet journey that started the night before last, looking for a movie to watch. I found “AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda“, the new movie about Paramahansa Yogananda. What a blessing!
As a young college student, I lived near Yogananda’s Encinitas retreat. It didn’t take me long to find the beautiful gardens and start on the lessons. Each week, I eagerly watched the mail for my next envelope of love and peace as I yearned to know what to do next in meditation. My path of seeking God was well under way. I loved Kriya Yoga and Yoganada’s sweet love was palpable in everything he touched.
Back to the movie, Awake. At the very end, George Harrison’s “Give Me Love” plays through the credits. George’s interview in the movie caught my heart. “Give Me Love” was playing in my mind last night when I went to sleep so this morning, I listened to it on YouTube and wept.
Here’s the journey part. There is a line in the song that says, “Give me hope, help me cope, with this heavy load trying to touch and reach you with heart and soul.”
I could spend all day on each phrase, but “this heavy load” stuck out. I realized that I’ve been carrying a heavy load that I can put down now. I’ve been feeling heavily burdened for several years. Some parts of my life have seemed difficult.
What if I could just lay down that heavy load?
What would it take for me to feel the light and life of love and peace in those areas?
What if I could trust Spirit or the angels or my sweet Lord to hold me in the kind of loving support that would free me from the heavy load of worry, fear, anxiety, and believing that I’m supposed to be burdened? It’s part of life!
And in a flash, it happened.
I no longer feel the heavy load. The burden is lifted.
The soul prayers of a devotee are very powerful. Your soul prayers are powerful. Try an experiment. Listen to “Give Me Love” and pour your heart and soul prayers to Spirit, or the angels, or your sweet Lord and see what happens.
What if you could lay down your heavy load?
It can happen in the 3 minutes of this song.
Thank you George Harrison for sharing your most sacred soul prayers with us through music.
