I have to laugh because I think of myself as “Being Good in Hot Water.” Most of my best work has emerged while I was in “hot water” during challenges in life, or really in hot water.
In the shower, I felt the blazing inspiration from the angels to offer a series of 12 messages. One every day. On video! Wow is that a challenge. Half the time, I don’t do make up or hair, or even shower! (Ooops, confession.) You are getting the best of me with this series of messages.
So here we are with Day 1 ~ Your Presence IS the Present.
On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me….. remember this song?
It dates back before the 16th century. Originally, it was a secret code containing the basic teachings of the Christian faith. The “true love” refers to God and “me” is everyone of faith. The 12 days started on Christmas, not before.
By the 16th century, some cultures combined festivals with the 12 days of Christmas to drive away evil spirits for the start of the new year.
We’re doing a loose version of this for friends of all faiths to drive away one evil stress for you every day for the next 12 days as my gift of love.
One of the biggest stresses of the Holy-Days is buying presents for everyone.
- Who do you want to buy presents for?
- Who do you need to buy presents for?
- What do you get them?
- Will they like your gift? What will people think of you and the gift?
- Will someone feel hurt because you didn’t get them a gift?
- When will you have time to shop?
- How much money should you spend on each gift?
- Where will you get the money?
These are a few of the questions that may be rattling around in your head.
The gift giving tradition came out of the story that the Magi or the 3 kings found the baby Jesus in the stable and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. On the first day of Christmas, my true love – God – gave to me – everyone of faith- a partridge in a pear tree – Jesus! Jesus was the gift.
Can you offer the gift of yourself, your presence, in the place of presents?
How can you be more present with your family and friends instead of worrying about stuff?
How can you just “BE”? Pray. Meditate. Connect with the angels. Listen for messages.
That is the first BE-Attitude I was given. BE.
The biggest gift of all is of simply BE. Be yourself. Your Eternal Self, free of illusion and misunderstanding.
Carve out time to BE. Make it a priority, before everything else.
Be. Make your Presence the present.
In loving Presence,
